Yorkshire Puddings
The English love a traditional roast meal for either Sunday lunch or dinner. We often had one with all the trimmings (gravy, Yorkshire pudding etc) at the local pub while we were living in the UK. Big M cooked the beef and half the vegetables in our outdoor Weber kettle BBQ.
Later Big M went into the city to watch the English match at the Union Jack’s Ale House. It was a big night and at the moment he’s half watching SBS (soccer before soccer) and half asleep lying on the couch! It’s all gone a little Fever Pitch here.
Score
* Big M – 6.
The expensive cut from the butcher did not impress however next day warmed up on a sandwich it proved better!
* Little m – 6.
The meat was a little disappointing. The Yorkshire puddings are usually the highlight of the meal, but were forgotten about as we were entertaining and a little too hard. Oops.
Comments
Big M has a cup of Yorkshire Tea nearly every day. I suspect we will be having a bacon buttie tomorrow for breakfast, which is a simple bacon sandwich with tomato sauce. Big M argues HP sauce is better.
For more English recipes Big M highly recommends one of his favourite websites, BBC Food. Gary Rhodes’ Food for Friends is an excellent book for entertaining. Rhodes suggests a large selection of complementary three courses which are very easy to follow.
